Booked again for 2015
"Was back at the Jardim again in July, and the bottom line is, we are booked again for 2015.
I reviewed this place last year, and once again, I would say all the same things.
It is a little dated in decor, and this depends on the apartment you are in, but in reality, all are very clean, it probably is a top 3 star place, maybe a 4 star.
We didn't eat in the hotel, the food in Alvor is too good. The pool side food is good, but the service this year at the pool was dreadful. They had 3 young girls working there who could not handle a crowd (bring back the guy you replaced). On staff, they are great otherwise, the usual eccentric behaviour from Chiko behind the bar, can be frustrating and should look at the customers as the purpose of his work, not an interruption of it, especially the Irish.
Quite a mixture of people, lots of Irish, Dutch, German. The Irish do get on well, great craic and all seem to be on the same level and wavelength. No rough elements anywhere, no soccer shirts, no tattoo gangs, nice people which is one of the major plusses of this place.
The pool is very clean, no messing at the pool from kids, the pool attendants are fairly strict which is great, but the kids have a ball there which is the main thing. There are a number of nice eating places nearby, and the obvious thing is the beach is right beside you. Very nice, very clean, nice for early morning walks if you get up. Warning, damn seagulls this year were so noisy, would love to have a shotgun!! Not funny at 6am..
It is a 15 minute walk into Praia De Roche, 10 minutes in taxi to Alvor, about 10 euro... food in Alvor is so good..
This is a great place for family with kids, not really for single people or even for 20s and 30s couples. It's not a 5 star place so don't expect it.. I think it is over priced, but I am going back next year so that says it all. It's all about the location and the people, good food around you, drink is drink, what more do you need". Just Loved It
"Hi,Stayed at Jardim Do Vau for 4 nights on a self catering basis, the rooms we booked were with beautiful sea views. We liked and enjoyed everything about our stay the apartment was spot on with every facility you would require, the staff were very friendly and helped in every way they could always smiling, the food in the restaraunt was in our opinion first class never tasted better anywhere,a Big thanks to all at the Jardim. Room Tip: All that is needed here is a room with a sea view never encountered any abnormal noise." Malcom, England, January 2015

Absolutely lovely
"Perfectly positioned for a quiet and relaxed getaway in a place of immense beauty. Hope to return one day. Apartments are spacious and come with everything you could need, except shampoo. Large balcony and sitting room. There are English channels available on the TV but we didn't watch a bit. The quiet was wonderful, and the sound of the ocean was enough. The hotel is on top of a stunning beach. A free shuttle runs from the hotel Portimao and environs daily. The local bus runs every 20 minutes to nearby Alvor. A well maintained indoor pool and jacuzzi are available during the winter months. Could not ask for a better, more restful break." Non identified client, Ireland, January 2015

Very nice holiday in a very nice hotel
"We have holidayed at Jardim do Vau on 2 occasions and loved it, so much that we probably will go again in summer. The location is fantastic, about 2 miles from Praia da Rocha and same distance from the lovely little town of Alvor. There is a nice restaurant with a small bar, ideal for a drink before dinner. Rooms are comfortable and spacious, well equipped. The hotel staff is terrific and very accommodating. Cannot recommend Jardim do Vau enough. Used Yellow fish taxis to and from Praia da Rocha and again, another efficient  and professional transfer. Thank you!" Patrick, England, January 2015

Still 11 out of 10!
"Second year running we've stayed here and it is still brilliant! The apartments are large and very well equipped with microwaves and cookers etc.
Even tea towels (changed daily)and table cloths. Beds changed about 3 times a week and towels were replaced daily. All the rooms are south facing so they are sun traps all day.
The beach is just a walk through the gardens, away. Not a huge amount to do in the immediate area though. There is a really good library, a gym, and a lovely indoor pool which, in late January we had to ourselves most of the time (swimming caps are compulsory, but can be borrowed from them.) Shuttle bus service. Large super market and shops about 2 k away. Everybody, without exception is welcoming even the people who did maintenance. Only down sides were that the internet access, although free, was only available in the reception area (lots of space there and comfy chairs) and the English channels on the tv were limited the CNN and Sky News and Sky sports one. We will be going back again next year and would strongly recommend it! Room Tip: Some rooms have sea view, but quite honestly I wouldn't bother to pay extra for one." A superior facility
"These apartments are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The views of the beach and sea from the generous balconies are a joy. Every day they are cleaned to a high standard by cleaners who are friendly and helpful. The staff at the reception are professional, approachable and very helpful. The apartments have a restaurant, a shop, hair dresser and other facilities. The indoor swimming pool that I used (the outdoor pool was too cold in March), is delightful. It is big, warm and beautifully cared for. The changing facilities are excellent. Sauna and jacuzzi are also provided. My only criticisms are that the selection of English TV channels was really limited to news and so not entertaining and you had to go to the foyer for a wifi signal.
The apartments are not on the main stretch, but it is a very pleasant walk to it. It took me about 15 minutes. Room Tip: Choose rooms on the upper floors for the best views and breeze on the balcony." John, Chorleywood, England, March 2015
